Discover Indian Architecture: CEPT Launches New Programs in Bengaluru & Hampi

Bengaluru: CEPT Professional Programs (CPP) – a CEPT University initiative that offers industry-ready training programs for working professionals in the built environment domain – is inviting applications to its two of its latest professional, on-site, certificate programs in Bangalore.

Professional Certificate Program on ‘Design Practices in Bengaluru’ from 30 January to 02 February 2025

Bengaluru has a great history of inspired patronage, both for private commissions and public institutions. Since the year 2000, Bengaluru has been home to the headquarters of some of the largest Indian & multi-national companies. Apart from these large campuses, large scale housing has also been a big part of the architectural output in the city.

The program ‘Design Practices in Bengaluru’ has been curated for architects, design professionals, real estate and planning professionals, design enthusiasts to introduce participants to the incredible design ecosystem that exists in the city of Bangalore and allow them first-hand access to widely recognized projects and the people behind them.  The program is designed for architects and other design professionals, real estate and planning professionals, design enthusiasts.

The course will be offered from 30 January to 02 February 2025, in Bangalore. This four-day on-site course will include walking tours and visits to significant projects in Bangalore, meetings and discussions with leading practitioners and their collaborators and interactions with reputed architects from Bangalore.

Professional Certificate Program in ‘Hampi: Program in Architectural History & Heritage’ from 13 to 16 February, 2025 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi

The program will be offered from 13 to 16 February 2025 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi. It is open to a diverse range of professionals, including architects, urban designers, heritage conservationists, historians, and non-professionals who bear a keen interest in history, architecture, and cultural heritage. It will include guided walks where participants will study the magnificent urban history of the city and the craftsmanship

behind Hampi’s unique architecture, alongside attending on-site lectures and engaging in evening discussion sessions. The sessions will also discuss challenges in heritage management and conservation plans relevant to the contemporary context.

This program aims to bring together history, culture and heritage enthusiasts and practitioners, on a common platform that not only allows them to appreciate the architecture, but identify unique challenges in heritage conservation, deliberate on possible conservation techniques that are inclusive and effective, while keeping community and stakeholder engagement at the centre of all discussions. 

Speaking about the new programs, Dr Subhrangsu Goswami, Head, CPP, CEPT University said, “The Bengaluru program will immerse participants in the city’s vibrant design ecosystem, from historic patronage to contemporary corporate campuses and large-scale housing projects. The Hampi program takes a deeper dive into the past, exploring the architectural brilliance of the Vijayanagara era. Both programs offer intensive learning experiences with a focus on immersive exploration, expert interaction, and collaborative discussions.”
